As a valued member of SturFit, the trustees are reaching out to you to see if you would be interested in becoming a ‘Friend of Sturfit’. As you may or may not know, over the last few years SturFit has relied on a small group of volunteers to help around the centre, mainly carrying out the role of welcoming members and guests at the front desk. However, this number has recently declined and the trustees have found themselves looking at other options to keep people involved with looking after and promoting the centre. At the most recent committee meeting, it was decided that a new way forward would to be to form a group of ‘friends’ who would be willing to give a little bit of their time to supporting Sturfit. We are not expecting anyone to be committed to any regular hours, though we would obviously welcome this, but rather we are looking for people who would be willing simply to give a few hours of their time here and there, perhaps helping out at an event, helping at one of our holiday play sessions or just helping to promote the centre in general.  You may have connections with other groups in the town, know of ways we could work in partnership with other groups or just be someone who could bring fresh and new ideas and suggestions for making SturFit a better place for our members and the local community.

If you think this could be you or you are interested in any way and would like to learn more, or just simply have a chat about becoming a ‘friend’, then please contact Lucy Luxton on, or leave your details with a member of the gym staff and I will be happy to get in contact with you.

All we require is bags of enthusiasm!
